Minister of Education, Youth and Info, Ruel Reid, said a total of 24 early childhood and primary associations will reap the benefits of infrastructure update valued at $38.6 million.
Moreover, under the early childhood revitalisation programme, that is part of the Ministry’s rationalisation strategy, baby sections will be added to 13 primary schools at a price of $16.8 million.
Our vision would be to have one of these associations in every parish, the minister noted.
Sixteen secondary schools will be updated at a price of $218.4 million, and $113.5 million will be spent to finish works began on 12 schools.
Senator Reid pointed out that under the Ministry’s Sanitation Project, one infant schools with pit latrines and the remaining 27 primary will get flush toilets. This job will cost $20 million.
Additionally, 27 primary schools that have just one classroom will reap the benefits of installing partition walls, at a price of $20 million.
